Thursday’s Tip: Shadow Stamping Tutorial

By | 26 May 2016

Today’s tip is a flash back from one I taught a couple of years ago.  It is a technique to create a shadow stamping effect with a stamped image.

Shadow Stamping Serene Silhouettes Notecard

Above is a simple card that I made with this technique using one of the stamps from the Serene Silhouettes stamp set.  This is one of the retiring stamp sets and it was so popular it has already sold out.  There will be lots of exciting new stamp sets coming next week on 1st June so you make like to try this technique with one of those, or perhaps you have a similar stamp set you can try it out with now.

Here is a tutorial on how to create a shadow stamping effect:
1) Ink your stamp with white Pigment ink and stamp onto coloured card.  Let it dry or heat with a Heating Tool.

2) Clean the stamp. Ink the stamp with coloured ink and stamp onto the Stamp-a-ma-jig imaging sheet, lining the stamp block up with the Stamp-a-ma-jig.

3) Place the image sheet of the Stamp-a-ma-jig on top of your white stamped image so it lines up exactly. Move the image sheet slightly to one side.

4) Remove the image sheet and stamp with your coloured ink, lining your stamp block with the Stamp-a-ma-jig so you stamp on top of the previous white stamp image, although it will be slightly to one side to create that shadow effect. This is what it should look like.

If you would like to purchase any of the products I have used, and you don’t already have a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, I would love to be your Demonstrator. You can either order online through my online store, or email me directly.  Please also check out my Loyalty Programme.  Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Thanks for visiting. This is a fun simple technique to do, so I hope you will have a try at the shadow stamping effect too.
