Thursday’s Tip: Rock & Roll Technique

By | 25 August 2016

The Rock & Roll technique has been around for a while, but perhaps something we haven’t seen in a while.  Today’s card with the leaves from the Thoughtful Branches Bundle shows off this technique.

If you look carefully at the leaves, they are a darker green around the outside.  This card was cased from my upline, Julia Leece.  She creates lots of amazing cards and is a wonderful upline.

How do you create the Rock & Roll effect?

1) Tap your stamp on light-coloured ink pad.
2) Then on darker ink pad, press the edges of stamp in a rolling motion, being careful not to ink the centre of the stamp.
3) Stamp onto your Whisper White or Very Vanilla Cardstock.
QUICK TIP
Always use the lightest coloured ink first to avoid getting dark ink on your light ink pad.
The Thoughtful Branches set I used is very versatile.  You can make cards with flowers, trees, leaves etc. so it can be used for many occasions, for both feminine and masculine cards.  It has a variety of sentiments with it too.
