Inking Technique with the Spring Flowers Embossing Folder

By | 19 May 2015

Today’s cards feature this week’s product, the Spring Flowers Embossing Folder. I have created these cards with the technique of inking the embossing folder before I put it through the Texture Boutique Machine or Big Shot.  These two cards today feature the embossing folder with ink on the bottom part of the embossing folder, so it creates a rustic type look.

I made my cards by stamping the sentiment on the bottom of a piece of Whisper White piece of cardstock (14.3cm x 10cm).  I used the Happy Birthday stamp from Butterfly Basics Stamp Set for this.  I then wiped ink onto my embossing folder and carefully placed my card onto the embossing folder, closed it and embossed it.  As the cardstock went through the Big Shot or Texture Boutique Machine, it pressed the ink into the card.  I added a strip of ribbon to hide the embossed edge of the card and then adhered it to my card base.  After that, at first I didn’t quite know what to do next to embellish the card and finish it off, so after some consideration I came up with two variations.

I made the card again with slightly more space at the base of the card and with a Butterfly Thinlit Die.
