New In Color Fabulous Flamingo Note Card

By | 21 June 2017

Flamingos are quite the in-thing at the moment with cardmaking.  Here is a stamped Note Card featuring a flamingo.  This is what the ladies who came to my Open House Event the other week were able to make.

Fabulous Flamingo Note Card

I must admit, the Fabulous Flamingo stamp set is not one of the stamp sets that was on my wish list or something that I would have thought to buy from the 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue.  It was one of the free stamp sets I received at OnStage in April and I am very grateful for any free stamp set I receive.  OnStage is an event which is held twice a year, and it is only for demonstrators. It is a chance for us to get together, be inspired, see the upcoming new catalogue, play with new product, learn some things to help us with our business and have fun!  And we get some freebies too!  Always a bonus!  If you would like to know more about becoming a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, you can find out some more information here.

Anyway, I thought since I have this stamp set, I may as well use it.  Now that I have it, I like it .  Several of my customers also liked it after “playing” with it.

Product List

I used three of the new In Colors on the his card.  I used Tranquil Tide for the reeds, Lemon Lime Twist for the leaves, and Powder Pink in the flamingo, along with Flirty Flamingo.  I also used Soft Sky for the water.  I stamped onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, rather than straight on the Note Card. I did this for two reasons.  The first reason was because if I stamped something wrong, I could turn it over or get a new piece and start again, and I then I wouldn’t waste a Note Card.  The second reason is so that I can wrap the piece of Black Twine around the card front before adhering it to the Note Card base.

Another thing I also did was, I stamped inside the card, just with the water and reeds, and I also stamped on the envelope.  This helps it all coordinate and make it extra special.

I cased this card from Jacque Williams and Paula Dobson.  Thank you ladies for sharing your creations with this card.

I hope you have enjoyed today’s creation, featuring the Fabulous Flamingo stamp set.
