Why I Became A Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator!

By | 24 March 2018

Here is a little about my journey as a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator.

I have enjoyed card making and paper crafting for many years. As a stay at home mum with three children, I wanted to have the chance to do something different from just being a mum, so sharing my enjoyment of crafting with others while make some money to pay for my own craft supplies seemed like a great idea.  I had heard about Stampin’ Up! so I thought I would check it out online and see if there were any Demonstrators near me.  I followed Julia Leece’s blog and I liked her style, so I went a long to some of her classes.  I then decided that I could do this too. I thought that being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator could help pay for my hobby!

In August 2012 I signed up as a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator under Julia.  I liked the idea of teaching a class and Julia was there to support me, especially when I was starting up.  I started with a monthly weekend class with three friends who liked stamping and were keen to come to a class.

Here are some photos of some cards and projects I taught in those early years!

Since I started my classes five years ago, a lot has changed. I have met many new people, taught a variety of classes and I have grown and learned along the way. Not only is it the people I have met through my classes that I appreciate, but also the friendships that I have made with other Demonstrators. I enjoy attending Demonstrator events, as well as holding my own classes.

When I started out over five years ago, I never knew where becoming a Demonstrator would lead to. It started with me teaching a class once a month as a way for me to purchase my own supplies. Now that all of my children are at school it has become my part-time job. I teach more classes and have a team. My craft supplies have hugely grown at no expense to the family budget and it is also a way that I can contribute to the family income as well as having fun at the same time.
