Thursday’s Tip: Emboss Resist

By | 28 April 2016

This week’s tip is Emboss Resist which is a technique that involves heat embossing.  Last week I shared how to heat emboss, so I thought this would be a great next step.

Heat Emboss:  First I rubbed the embossing buddy over my paper to remove any static.  I stamped my flower image in Versamark.  I poured on the embossing powder.  You can use clear or white.  I used white on this Whisper White cardstock.  I tipped off the excess powder and put it back into the container.  Lastly I set it by heating it with a heat tool.   To learn more about how to heat emboss or the tools and products you need, check out last week’s post here.

Now for the Emboss Resist part.  I sponged the paper with ink.  I used Daffodil Delight and Blushing Bride.   The ink goes onto the card, but, the ink doesn’t stay where the embossed image is – it resists – so the white embossed flowers stand out.

This is a fun technique to try.  Over the next couple days I will share some cards I made using this emboss resist technique.
