Thursday’s Tip: Choosing A Colour Combination

By | 11 August 2016

Do you sometimes struggle to know what colour combination to use when you are about to make a card or project?  I hope today’s tip will help you. My suggestion helps you to use the resources that are already there and benefit from the work and research that Stampin’ Up has already done.

How to decide on a colour combination:

Pull out your current Stampin’ Up! Catalogue and check out the Designer Series (DSP) packs.  This is on page 173-175 of the Annual Catalogue.  With each pack they state which colours feature in that particular paper pack.   Then use some of these colours to make your card or creation.   You don’t have to have the paper to use on your creation, you can just use the colour combinations that they use.

For example, the Blooms & Bliss Designer Series Paper features the colours Blushing Bride, Island Indigo, Mint Macaron, Rich Razzleberry, Sahara Sand, Sweet Sugarplum and Whisper White.  On some sheets of paper the pinks are combined together and on the other sheets the blues are together with the neutral colour.  So you could make a card with Blushing Bride, Rich Razzleberry, and Sweet Sugarplum or you could use Island Indigo, Mint Macaron and Sahara Sand together.

Here are some creations by Stampin’ Up featuring these colour combinations.
