This Masculine card features a textured embossed background created with dies from the Geared Up Garage Bundle and the Big Shot Embossing Mats. It was one of the cards I taught at my classes last month.
When the Big Shot Embossing Mats are used, you can create an embossed look with your dies. The framelits, thinlits and edgelits dies can be used. By using the silicone embossing mats, it leaves an impression in the cardstock rather than cutting completely through it. This is a great way to get more out of your dies!
In the past when using the car stamp, I have stamped the car in black Memento ink and coloured it with Stampin’ Blends. This time I stamped the car with VersaMark ink and heat set it with white emboss power on black cardstock, so now colouring was required.
Geared Up Garage Bundle
I used the embossing mats and the big set of gears dies to create a textured background. As well as the textured background, I cut out many of the individual gears to arrange on the front of the card. You may notice a slight shine on them too. They were embossed with clear emboss powder to add the shine to the cardstock.
The Geareed Up Bundle from the Classic Garage Suite has a lot of versatility to it. I have used the Geared Up Garage stamp set and coordinating dies a lot to make masculine cards. Being able to use the dies to create an embossed background adds even more possibilities with this set!
