Today’s card is a masculine card with a bordered sentiment. It features the Geared Up Garage stamp set and Classic Garage Suite.
I made this masculine card as part of a team swap, so I made 18 of them. At our team meeting, I swapped them with those who had signed up to take part in the group swap. I ended up with 18 different cards in total, all using new product from the Occasions Catalogue. I then displayed all these cards at my Open Home event. The display was a great way for my customers to see a variety of cards and ways that the new product can be used.
To make the card, I created the background by stamping the oil stain and nuts stamps randomly over a piece of Smokey Slate cardstock. I then stamped the car and coloured in with Stampin’ Blends. After that, I cut it out with the coordinating die, which is much easier and neater than fussy cutting! The gears are also cut out with a die from the coordinating die set. To finish the card, I adhered all the layers together and adhered the gears to the Smokey Slate stamped piece. The car and sentiment are then adhered with Mini Dimensionals.
I used the “Happy Birthday” stamp from the Perennial Birthday stamp set and stamped some nuts below it so it fitted the shape of the die from the Garage Gears Thinlits dies.
How To Have A Bordered Sentiment
To border the sentiment, I cut two more of the same die-cut shape out of Soft Suede cardstock. I cut one in half horizontally and the other vertically. This allowed me to adhere it to the back of the stamped sentiment with a border. If you would like to see how to do this, check out this video below. It uses a different shape, but the principal is the same!
Here are the products I used to make the masculine card featured above.
Simplified Geared Up Garage Card
I also designed a slightly easier version of the card as one of the ‘make ‘n takes’ for my Open Home event in January. It doesn’t have quite so many layers, and the sentiment is a bit easier to do.
The Geared Up Garage bundle is a must have set as the possibilities are endless for cards for the males in your life.
