Frosted Floral Double Easel & Dragonfly Card

By | 19 September 2018

Today I am sharing with you the Frosted Floral Double Easel card which is one of the cards taught at my class last weekend. I am also teaching a this at tomorrow’s class.  The card also features a lovely glittery die cut dragonfly.

For my birthday I received the following beautiful card made my one of my fellow demonstrators, Kathryn Tyrrell. I like the unique fold to it.  This card then inspired me to make the card I taught at my class.

Kathryn knows I like blue and so chose the blue matting and card base.  I really like the colours she chose.  The Balmy Blue colour is a lovely blue and works well with this card, even though it isn’t one of the colours in the Designer Series Paper.

I changed the card a little for my class.  Here you can see my version of the card below.  I have also used different sheets of paper from the Frosted Floral Specialty DSP pack for this card, but some who came to my class also used the same paper as Kathryn used above.  This paper has a lovely shimmer to it.

I didn’t have the oval dies so I chose to use the circle dies instead and I think it works really well.

To make the dragonfly stand out a little more against the background, I cut out the smaller detailed dragonfly in Glimmer Paper, but I also die cut the dragonfly shape in Bashful Blue so that it didn’t disappear into the patterned background so much.

And this is how the card stands up.

Here are both cards next to each other so you can see the difference.  They are both lovely cards.
